Federal Shortfall to Double
Here is an article from the Washington Post that states whoever the next president will be will inherit someone else's mess when it comes to our federal budget. I wonder what our philosophers might say about how a country should use its wealth after reading this. Not an assignment but but rather something to think about. Feel free to respond if you wish however (read the article first though)
Congrats Mr. President...By The Way We Are Broke
Enjoy, Mr. Thompson

oooh - I love budget discussions! Good luck next generation. Here's what the White House says on a defunct page (laughing so hard I can barely type): "The 2002 Budget forecasts surpluses for decades to come if we maintain a policy of fiscal discipline." Big "if", eh?

Sorry for the aside, Mr. Thompson, but I'll let our students make the connections to the readings we've studied.
