Iowa campaign ad spending
This article found in last night's Post-Bulletin is a must read if you are planning on taking the AP Gov't test. There is so much good stuff in here about campaign finance, parties, the electorate etc.
-$30 million in ads
-$480 spent per undecided voter in Iowa (a recliner for all!!!)
-Campaign finance references galor (Citizens United and the Supreme Court)
-"retail campaigning"
Here are the links to some sites we reference later in the semester but since the article brings them up now, feel free to access them. They will be important later as well!
Real Clear Politics - a plethora of info and data on the upcoming election. Tons of articles, the most recent polls, etc.
ElectoralVote.com - we have looked at this site in class. The most recent polls and projections. Explore and enjoy.
OpenSecrets.org - Want to find out what it costs to be president, a US Senator, a Congressman? Want to find out where all this money comes from and who donates? Check the people on your street and see who the big campaign donors are in your neighborhood. It is all public knowledge.
