What am I (when it comes to politics)

Take a few minutes to take the quiz. At the end, you will get a description of who you are based on your answers to the questions. Post a comment based on what you found out about yourself. Be sure to comment on how these results compare with the results of the survey we took in class. Pay attention to how you responded to the question and the topic of the questions as this could only help when it comes time for us to take our Political Ideology quiz at the end of the week. This is an assignment and it must be completed before we take our ideology quiz in class Friday

To no surprise based on my 0 from the survey in class essay, I am very liberal.

My quiz was very similar to the survey results in class. However, I felt that a lot of the questions in the online quiz puzzled me more and rather than creating my own opinion I stuck with what I've heard before.

I got 80% Social Democrat which matched my 6/25 on the one we did in class. However there were some questions where the answer I would've wanted wasn't an option

In the survey we took in class I was basically right down the middle with my results and it said I was slightly more conservative. The online quiz said I was slightly more liberal. They were pretty much both down the middle though.

The class survey and this one put me as a liberal. I tried the Pew and Compass surveys (which seem to be higher quality) and they put me as a little less liberal and a little more libertarian, which I'm inclined to agree with.

This proposed questions I didn't even know how to answer myself so it took some time and I still ended up 85% liberal and that goes with my 0/25 in class.

84% social democrat. The questions gave a greater degree of freedom of options so I was not as liberal as the quiz from class showed.

My results were basically the same as in class. It said I'm 85% social democrat. I think this quiz is more accurate than the survey in class, because it provides more options for nuanced opinions.

The online quiz gave me close to the same result as the in class quiz. It said I am a conservative. Since this quiz had multiple answer choices for each question it more accurately portrayed the various political view points.

At 5:18 PM, Anonymous Michelle Haddock said...

My result was 77% conservative, which more or less matches the survey from class. I liked the greater flexibility of the online quiz; the in-class survey offers only two extremes for most questions, and for many of them I didn't really agree with either side.

My results said that i am very liberal, which refelcts what I recieved on the quiz in class. I was more liberal on this quiz with 86% than in class with a 9/25.

At 6:19 PM, Anonymous Molly said...

My result was that I'm 84% Social Democrat and 83% Liberal, which reflects my result on the class quiz of 5/25. I liked how the survey had more than just two answers to show more of the middle ground than just liberal or conservative.

At 6:53 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

My results were very different. In the class quiz I scored very moderate, but on the online quiz I was 78% conservative. I enjoyed the online quiz having more than two ways to answer the questions.

At 7:29 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

My results showed that I am 84% Social Democrat, which matched the in class quiz at 7/25. However, I felt that the online quiz reflected more heavily of fiscal policy issues, whereas the quiz in class had more option to sway on the social issues.

At 7:30 PM, Anonymous Calvin Blume said...

The quiz marked me as 83% conservative and 79% liberal. This nearly mirrors the in class survey, as it indicated I am fairly moderate while leaning slightly conservative.

At 7:53 PM, Anonymous Mackenzie Rutherford said...

My results were pretty similar, they said I'm 90% Social Democrat and 0% Conservative which reflects my 0/25 on the quiz. This quiz revealed that there are many variations of an individual's reasoning for why they support some liberal or conservative concepts.

At 8:05 PM, Anonymous Brandon Lam said...

The quiz gave me a mark of 93% liberal and 90% Social Democrat, agreeing with the in class survey which I scored a 2/25. I think this quiz was a better representation of my viewpoints because it offered more than the two extremes of the political spectrum.

At 8:49 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

My result: Conservative
I was a little worried when the top match began with liber.. but after taking a closer look I was relieved to see it say 84% Libertarian and 30% Fascist/Radical Right. I believe this to be a fairly adequate description of my beliefs matching with the 17 out of 25 that I got on the poll we took in class.

Class 10/25 slightly liberal
online survey 93% Libertarian 83% Conservative 67% Liberal
I was surprised of how high a percent I had of conservative since I was leaning more liberal in class. I am still fairly liberal base off this survey and very libertarian which makes sense from me.

I'm overall 86% liberal.
I'm split into 4 of the 5 categories: Social Democrat 77%, Communist/Radical Left 50%, Libertarian 41%, Conservative 29%

At 7:43 AM, Blogger Ashley Horejsi said...

I got 78% liberal which matches fairly well with my 6/25 from class. I agree with others though that sometimes the choice I wanted was not listed.

At 8:22 AM, Blogger Unknown said...

Overall, I am 80% Liberal.
78% Social Democrat, 33% Communist/ Radical Left, 15% Conservative, 10% Libertarian, 4% Fascist/Radical Left

At 10:03 AM, Blogger Unknown said...

I'm a 91% liberal which makes sense based on my quiz. There were a few questions in both quizzes that I didn't know how to go because some things really depend on the situation.

At 12:55 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm 86% conservative, which is a lot more than my score in class. There were more in depth questions on this quiz but it also had questions that I didn't have a particular stance on.

At 12:58 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

The quiz told me I was 86% liberal and 73% social democrat, disagreeing with the in class survey were I scored more in the middle but leaning a little but towards liberal with 11/25. I preferred the in class survey compared to the online because you could only choose one or the other.

At 1:22 PM, Anonymous Megan McDevitt said...

I scored a 10/25 in the class survey and on the online survey I received 84% conservative and 67% liberal, so I think both reflect that I am an independent and can lean either way.

At 1:41 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I received 89% liberal. This essentially matched my 1/25 on the survey, which is very liberal. I thought this test was more in depth and possibly more accurate, as to there were more options, but my opinions did not really change.

At 5:29 PM, Anonymous Andrea Davis said...

I scored 88% Libertarian and 7/25 on the class survey. This shows how I have beliefs that fall on either side of the spectrum. Having more options to choose from made it easier to select answers that are closer to my opinions, although there were still questions that did not fully express them.

At 6:28 PM, Anonymous Pazey Yang said...

I'm a 77% liberal - more accurate than my 3/25 score. This quiz had more options that portrayed most of my views rather than the black and white answers we had in class(which had several that were fairly difficult to decide on).

90% Liberal, this one seems to put me a lot more liberal than the in class one, which I got 8/25. One problem I had was some questions didn't make sense and a lot I just don't have an opinion on/care about

At 6:46 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

I got 15/25 on my in class quiz and got 86% Libertarian with 81% Conservative which somewhat matches my in class quiz as I leaned slightly to the right. Another one of the surveys also said I was a moderate conservative which correlates with my class survey.

At 6:53 PM, Anonymous Raba Tefera said...

The quiz claimed that I am 89% a liberal. I disagree with this evaluation because I know feel that I am towards the middle of the spectrum. The quiz we took in class was more reflective of me because the questions were very straightforward and not confusing.

At 8:03 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

The quiz labeled me as 83% Liberal, which was not surprising due to the questions asked and the fact that multiple choices were offered. The in class survey as well as the political ideology link posted above both established that I am moderate. Together, these surveys accurately place me as a slightly liberal moderate.

At 8:26 PM, Anonymous Jared Juth said...

I got 93% Libertarian, which I thought was pretty accurate because of the way I answered fiscal vs social questions, but maybe not as accurate as the in-class survey where I was moderate.

At 9:37 PM, Anonymous Marissa Doop said...

I got 60% liberal and 56% conservative which pretty accurately matches my 12/25 score in class. I found this quiz more accurate since there were more choices to choose from that matched my views rather than only having two options to choose from in class.

At 10:18 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

My result from the quiz was Social Democrat (82%). Below that it says 69% Liberal which coincides with my results from class because I got a 7/25. This was a good quiz because the answers given forced me to take a stance on some things that I was indifferent about.

The quiz says that I am 88 % conservative witch is a bit higher than the 14/25 I got on survey we took in class. I thought this quiz was more accurate, but still didn't have the exact answers I would agree with.

At 5:41 AM, Anonymous Haarini said...

I got 90% liberal fairly consistently, which coincides pretty well with my in class survey, with some fairly consistent "Strong Liberal" or "Communist/ Left" results. While some had more questions on slightly different issues, I felt all had pretty much the same topic at least so nothing seemed out of the ordinary

At 10:52 AM, Anonymous Andrew Smith said...

I got 88% liberal on my quiz, and this sort of falls in line with what I thought I would recieve. I do see myself as a liberal, and that showed in the results of our in class survey where I got a 6, but I didn't realize how left leaning I was.

At 12:44 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

On the class survey I recirved a 10/25, leaning more on the liberal side. On the online survey my scores indicated that I am more of a moderate conservative. This did not surprise me because I stand in the middle.

At 7:41 PM, Anonymous Natalia Lopez said...

My results from the quiz were that I'm 85% Social Democrat, which was expected since I got a 3/25 on the in class survey. The online quizwas more accurate because it covered a lot more topics than the in class survey and also had more options besides agree/disagree.

My results indicated that I was 86% liberal which takes me by a sort of surprise as I scored 13/25 on the class survey and always considered myself sort of right leaning...

At 10:52 AM, Blogger Unknown said...

My results on the online quiz put me as 79% libertarian, while then in class quiz put me as moderate with 13/25. However, with my more personal views, I would say I'm conservative.

At 2:38 PM, Blogger Ben said...

I was 84% liberal, which lines up fairly well with what I had in class: 2/25. I thought that the online quiz was definitely better than the in class survey, but it was still pretty divisive on some questions

At 4:28 PM, Anonymous Alex Jensen said...

I'm 82% conservative which is similar to the one we took in class

At 11:29 PM, Anonymous Faduma Sharif said...

My results were that I was 80% Social Democrat, this aligned with my results in class. However, I felt that the questions didn't always align with my actual opinions, so I was left to choose an answer I didn't like.

At 2:51 PM, Blogger Unknown said...

Mine concluded that I am a strong liberal generally leaning left and would fit in with the Democratic party. The survey we took in class put me more in the middle.

At 10:22 AM, Anonymous Gina Hurtado said...

I have been classified as a moderate liberal which is similar to the result I got in class, but I feel I was indifferent about some of the questions on the online survey.

At 1:11 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

My results were 82% Social Democrat. Expected since I got a 4/25 in . I liked the online quiz better since it offered a wider range of questions however some of the questions didn't really have answers that I would choose so I had to pick choices I didn't necessarily like.

To none of my surprise, all of the quizzes lifted be as a solid or strong liberal as I take very liberal positions on virtually "all issues" according to the people-press quiz. Something that stuck out to me was that the website said "solid liberals are very optimistic about the nation's future" and that these types of liberals have the belief that "America's success is linked to it's ability to change," which definitely affirms my beliefs as a whole. Though I've always affirmed with the Democrat party, it suggested that I may be interested in the Green Party, which is something I definitely plan to look into.
