Rules of the Blog
Enjoy this resource it is a tremendous supplement! Feel free to comment and speak your mind.
Keep your rhetoric to the point...no one wants to read 2 pages of ramble but lots of people want to read a paragraph or 2 of quality. You must identify who you are by name. Any anonymous responses will be deleted by the blog gods (Decker and Thompson). Be sure that what you want to put on the blog you are committed to defend. People will question your thoughts (remember Socrates). You can be controversial...just remember-people will be reading your comments.
Any other questions, see us in class.

In todays Symposium, I had many comments on some of the questions, but didn't know how to phrase it properly. I remember someone asked a question dealing with Aristotle. It was along the lines of, Where does America stand, when compared to the differnt types of Gov'ts mentioned? My answer to that would have been a quote from the text. "Now every city is composed of quality and quantity. By quality I mean freedom, wealth, education, good birth, and by quantity, superiority of numbers. Quality may exist in one of the classes which make up the state, and quantity in the other." Aristotle, pg. 1223. I think that the quote at leasts sets up a guideline to the question. After deciding if America is more quality or quantity, you can decide if it leads more towards tyranny, oligarchy, aristocracy, or democracy. Bobby Croghan
