Now that you are in office, do you boldly proceed or do you tread softly??? Read the editorial and feel free to comment on the above question and/or anything else you care to agree or disagree with the author on. Eg. have we indeed shifted to a left-leaning country or have we just shifted to the left and are now just a bit closer to the middle? Also pay attention to the last paragraph. Enjoy

I really think that it would be best for Obama to start his term strongly and in a bold manner. Obviously the economy as not in its best state right now and I don't think that it could get much worse with the ideas that Obama has proposed to follow throughout his campaign. Also I think that both presidential candidates had already analyzed the errors of past presidents and had already thought of ways to avoid them a while before election time and so I believe Obama should just go forward without hesitation and execute his plan to fix our country. He just needs to "FIX IT" :-P.

I agree with what Ahmed said, for the part on if Obama should continue proceeding boldly. For the question on if the nation has moved more to the left, I would say that we have. Because just by doing the activity in class to see if you were liberal or conservative, most of the class was on more of a left side; and if thats not a pretty good example of how more people are becoming more liberal then I don't know. Not to mention its more of the elderly that are the conservatives, while the younger and newer voters are more liberal- if I can remember right. (Well I hope you get what I am trying to say.)
