Legacy of George W. Bush
As we get ready to head into the last year of our current administration, people begin to speculate of how the history books will remember this president. I know this is hard to respond objectively for all of you "red-staters" and "blue staters" but give it a shot. What do you think the textbooks will say? 1-2 sentences maximum - 1st to state your opinion and the 2nd to support it.
For Bush, Advances But Not Approval
Happy Turkey Day America (Canada's Thanksgiving is in October)

I think criticism of Bush will be downplayed in history books in an attempt to be unbiased. Our past US Presidents are all championed in textbooks why won't the same happen for Bush?
As many problems as there are in the Bush administration and as many bad things have happened, the textbooks won't give more than a passing glance to them. Look at Nixon; Watergate and the bombing of the South Asian countries that weren't Vietnam are given about a paragraph, then we move on to the intricacies of the war itself; soon enough, nobody will even know who Alberto Gonzalez or Donald Rumsfeld were.
Like Tony and Krishna, I also think that history will eventually vindicate President Bush. Just take a look at the presidency of Harry S. Truman, which, although plagued by then-record low approval ratings, is now regarded by Americans as one of the top ten administrations ever (look at the wikipedia article on 'historical rankings of united states presidents')
I hope George W. Bush leaves his office with a legacy of one of the worst presidential leadership this country has ever seen. I was actually a fan when he was elected but not anymore. I disagree with Tony who says he may end up being championed in the history books, but in reality I believe he will be known as the president that let this country slip into it's worst period of economic stability. But that's just my opinion. yes...It's slow at Home Depot tonight.
