For your info from today's class.
Here are the links to the websites I accessed in class. For you lonely people who have an interest and you are looking for a group to join, you can access info about interest groups, 527's, PACs etc. http://www.opensecrets.org/
For the intellectuals in the group or you just want some stimulating reading, you can access the think tanks at http://usinfo.state.gov/usa/infousa/politics/thnktank.htm
Don't forget to look for a news item for your political cartoon. I wonder which contemporary political figure will be the most drawn caricature. I hope we don't get 47 of George Bush. (hint, hint-pick someone unique but that we'll recognize)
Have a great weekend! Mr. Thompson

if any of you have started studying STRANDS here is something on the Pulitzer Prize. This was an article in Writer's Digest......Michael Chabon won the prize in 2001 for his novel "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay". He was age 38. He has been a struggling author. One of his successes is "Wonder Boys" which also became an award winning film. The novel that won him the prize took 4 and a half yrs to finish and is about Jewish cousins who make their own comic book in NY city in the late 30's and 40's. He said discipline is what helped him get through the struggles of writing.
just a cool article and thought I'd share what I found.....now i have to go write my paper.....ahhhh
